We're happy to announce that Aleksander has joined OMRON as a Field Application Engineer, strengthening our Norwegian team.
Aleksander is based in Oslo and holds a Master of Science in Cybernetics and Applied AI, a bachelor's degree in Automation and Electronics Design from the University of Stavanger, and a letter of apprenticeship in automation. He brings hands-on experience as an automation technician in the oil & gas industry and as an embedded engineer working with subsea electronics, combined with engineering expertise in control systems, PLCs, firmware development, AI, and vision & image processing.
In his role, Aleksander will support our customers with technical expertise, application guidance, and solution development across OMRON's automation portfolio.
"I have a great passion for PLCs, robots, and generally anything I can program to perform a physical action in the real world – and OMRON makes all of it. I'm looking forward to meeting customers out in the field, going to expos, and tailoring automation equipment to work seamlessly together," says Aleksander.
In his free time, Aleksander enjoys climbing, bodybuilding, skiing, and cooking 🧑🍳

Electric servo grippers: When does the flexibility of the External Drive make sense, and when the intelligence of the Integrated Drive?
In the world of advanced automation, choosing between centralized or distributed servo control defines the electrical architecture of the entire system.
To meet every integration need, Gimatic offers two distinct approaches with the MPLF and MPCF:
➡️ MPLF Series: Need to integrate motor control into an existing electrical panel or with your specific Fieldbus?
MPLF uses an external drive (Kits available with Gimatic Drive), allowing maximum freedom in parameterization and the implementation of custom setups.
➡️ MPCF Series: Looking for a turn-key solution without taking up space in the cabinet?
MPCF integrates the electronics on board and comes equipped with the Gimatic Middleware: you can store up to 8 recipes (force, speed, position) callable directly from the PLC/Robot without having to implement the full CANopen standard. Plus, the 0.3 μm absolute encoder never loses its zero point.
Both series offer delicate gripping and the ability to perform the grip at any position along the stroke.

Tack för en fin dag hos Solar! ☀️
Vi hade glädjen att delta i Solar-dagen, och det blev precis så givande som vi hoppats: många bra samtal, nyfikna frågor och konkreta utmaningar att bolla kring.
På plats hade vi vår kunnige Erik Petrini, som visade upp delar av vårt sortiment inom industriell automation – bland annat E3AS-serien som ger stabil detektering oavsett objektets färg, material eller yta. Besökarna fick även se t ex strömförsörjningslösningar (S8VK-W) för tuffa miljöer och ett brett temperaturområde samt klassiska, driftsäkra gränslägesbrytare.
Ett stort tack till Solar Sverige AB för ett välarrangerat evenemang och för ett fortsatt starkt samarbete 🤝 Och tack till alla er som kom förbi montern och delade med er av era projekt – vi ses snart igen!

👋 Welcome to OMRON, Erik!
We are happy to welcome Erik Imamovic to the team as Field Sales Engineer in Sweden. Erik started with us on 1 September and is based in Solna.
Erik graduated from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in February this year with a BSc in Industrial Technology and Production Maintenance, where industrial processes, maintenance, sustainability and digitalisation were at the core of his studies. Before joining OMRON, he worked as a digital strategist at the company where he wrote his thesis, assessing their digital maturity and supporting their work with AI and other digital tools.
In his own words:
💬 "Becoming a Sales Engineer has been my goal for a long time. I'm motivated by working with people and helping customers find the right solutions to their challenges – the combination of technology, sales and customer interaction makes this a dream role for me. OMRON gives me exactly that opportunity: travelling across Sweden, meeting customers, understanding their needs and helping them find the right technical solutions. I'm also lucky to work alongside supportive and experienced colleagues who help me develop in the role."
🏋️ Outside work, Erik spends most of his time with family and friends, and likes to keep active at the gym or out jogging.
