Acquisition successfully completed: Thimm is now part of the Saica Group
The acquisition of the Thimm Group by the Saica Group, announced in May 2026, has been successfully completed. Following approval by the European Commission on 24 July 2026, the transaction has now been officially finalized.
As a result, Thimm's sites in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania, with nearly 2,500 employees, have become part of the Saica Group and all plants will remain operational.
This marks an important milestone for both companies. Saica and Thimm have enjoyed a long-standing partnership since the late 1990s. Together, we are strengthening our presence in Central and Eastern Europe and shaping the future of the European packaging industry.
Acquisition finalisée avec succès : Thimm fait désormais partie du Groupe Saica
L’acquisition du Groupe Thimm par le Groupe Saica, annoncée en mai 2026, a été finalisée avec succès. À la suite de l’approbation de la Commission européenne le 24 juillet dernier, la transaction a désormais été officiellement conclue.
En conséquence, les sites de Thimm en Allemagne, en Pologne, en République tchèque et en Roumanie, représentant près de 2 500 collaborateurs, font désormais partie du Groupe Saica et tous les sites resteront en activité.
Cette étape marque un jalon important pour les deux entreprises.
Saica et Thimm entretiennent un partenariat de longue date depuis la fin des années 1990.
Ensemble, nous renforçons notre présence en Europe centrale et orientale et façonnons l’avenir de l’industrie européenne de l’emballage.

Przejęcie Grupy Thimm przez Grupę Saica, ogłoszone w maju 2026 r., zostało pomyślnie sfinalizowane. Po uzyskaniu zgody Komisji Europejskiej 24 lipca 2026 r. transakcja została oficjalnie zakończona.
W rezultacie zakłady Thimm w Niemczech, Polsce, Czechach i Rumunii, zatrudniające blisko 2 500 pracowników, stały się częścią Grupy Saica, a wszystkie zakłady produkcyjne pozostaną w pełni operacyjne.
To ważny kamień milowy dla obu firm. Saica i Thimm utrzymują wieloletnie partnerstwo od końca lat 90. XX wieku. Wspólnie wzmacniamy naszą obecność w Europie Środkowej i Wschodniej oraz współtworzymy przyszłość europejskiego przemysłu opakowaniowego.
