Summer is peak season for 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝘃𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀. As demand for fresh carrots and other vegetables increases, production lines need to run at full capacity - often under harsh operating conditions.
One vegetable processor faced a recurring problem every summer: 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵, reducing belt life and causing it to disengage from the sprockets. To avoid disruptions, conveyor speed had to be reduced, adding more than 500 hours of production time every season.
The company decided it was time for a change.
By replacing the belts with 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲® - specifically the 𝗟𝘂𝗴 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 to resist elongation - the processor eliminated the stretching issue and restored full-speed production.
With less than 1% total stretch demonstrated in long-term tensile testing, Cleandrive provided the stability and reliability needed to perform, even during the hottest months.

Hot melt pallet stabilisation addresses both.
In this water bottling application, Meler integrated an adhesive application system to improve pallet stability and help reduce the use of single-use plastics, contributing to a lower carbon footprint while ensuring the proper distribution of goods.
It is a practical example of how adhesive application can play a role beyond bonding itself, right through to the final stages of production.

A key milestone has been reached in the expansion of our headquarters in Rietheim-Weilheim
The new connecting bridge between our existing facility and the new production and logistics building has been successfully installed.
As Peter Gärtner, Partner at SCHMELZLE+PARTNER Architects, explains: “The bridge is one of the defining elements of the entire project. Functionally, it connects the existing and new buildings, while architecturally it symbolises the continuous development of the site.”
The bridge forms part of the largest construction project in WERMA’s history and supports a future-focused site designed for flexibility, scalability and sustainability. The new building is being developed to meet the standards of the DGNB German Sustainable Building Council, underlining our continued commitment to long-term sustainable growth.
