The PPWR (Regulation EU 2025/40) now applies across all 27 Member States. It replaces the 1994 Directive and applies directly, with no national transposition and no grace period.
Here is what it means, as of today, for any manufacturer placing packaging on the European market:
➡️ Restrictions on substances of concern
➡️ A mandatory EU Declaration of Conformity and technical documentation for every packaging placed on the market
➡️ Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations
And a timeline that ramps up through 2030!
These requirements aren't settled on paper. They're met on the production line.
Lightweighting packaging, switching to mono-material formats, integrating recycled content, rolling out reuse and refill systems, coding, marking and tracing every unit: each of these answers relies on high-performance machinery and equipment, intelligently engineered to adapt and to last.
