📰 Opening the doors to circularity
How does a cardboard box become a cardboard box again?
That was one of the key themes explored during Packaging News Editor Waqas Qureshi's visit to Saica's Greater Manchester operations.
The day showcased our closed-loop approach, beginning at Saica Natur, where recovered cardboard and packaging materials are collected, sorted and processed, before continuing to PM-11, where those fibres are transformed into 100% recycled paper for new packaging applications.
Along the way, discussions covered some of the biggest topics facing the industry today, including packaging regulation, fibre quality, decarbonisation and the growing demand for transparency across supply chains.
As one of the few operators in the UK able to manage the full lifecycle of recovered fibre, we are proud to demonstrate how circularity can deliver environmental and commercial value for customers, communities and the wider industry.
