⭐ Two weeks ago, Siemens Bulgaria hosted Zero Day: Cybersecurity in Action, a large-scale conference that brought together 200 participants from across the business and academic landscape, spanning energy, industry, IT services, real estate, architecture and design and media.
🌐 A diverse group of 16 cybersecurity experts took the stage, including prominent Siemens customers, representatives of government institutions, NGOs, and academia, alongside Siemens colleagues from Germany, Great Britain and Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, and Bulgaria.
The conference presented a 360-degree approach to cybersecurity, emphasizing the need to:
▶️ Move cybersecurity accountability from the server room to the boardroom
▶️ Integrate cybersecurity from the earliest project stages
▶️ Strengthen cyber resilience through Siemens’ latest solutions and services
💫 The key message was that effective cybersecurity involves more than technology. It requires leadership, collaboration, and security by design, as it is no longer solely an IT responsibility. It is a strategic business priority.

In the 2026 Middle East Infrastructure Transition Monitor, senior executives across the region identified grid infrastructure as one of the most important priorities for supporting electrification and the integration of renewable energy. Preparing the grid for the future requires both advanced technology and training for the next generation of engineers.
In collaboration with Oman's Ministry of Energy and Minerals, we are helping strengthen both. Building on our support for Oman's national energy model, energy transition strategy, and training programs for government specialists, we have granted four Omani universities access to industry-standard software used to plan, simulate, and protect power networks.
Presented at IEEE PowerTalks 2026 in Muscat this week, the initiative will provide up to 500 engineering students at Sultan Qaboos University, University of Nizwa, Sultanate of Oman, University of Technology and Applied Sciences and Sohar University with hands-on experience using the same tools employed to plan and protect real-world grids through the 2027-28 academic year.

Maintenance industrielle : savez-vous réellement quand remplacer vos chaînes ?
Une chaîne de transmission peut sembler en bon état… tout en présentant un allongement qui compromet progressivement la fiabilité de votre installation.
Et attendre les premiers dysfonctionnements pour intervenir peut coûter cher : arrêts imprévus, interventions d'urgence, pertes de production.
La bonne approche ? Mesurer plutôt que subir !
Avec les jauges de contrôle d'usure iwis, les équipes maintenance disposent d'un outil simple et précis pour surveiller l'allongement des chaînes à rouleaux.
Un indicateur essentiel à connaître :
2,5 % d'allongement : seuil d'alerte signalant qu'un remplacement approche.
3 % d'allongement : limite maximale de remplacement recommandée selon l'application.
Ces seuils doivent naturellement être adaptés aux conditions de fonctionnement et aux préconisations de l'installation.
L'enjeu n'est pas simplement de remplacer une chaîne, mais de le faire au bon moment.
Une mesure régulière permet de mieux planifier les interventions, de limiter les arrêts non programmés et de maîtriser les coûts de maintenance.
