How do you upgrade a grinding machine when the housing cannot grow by a single millimetre?
The Multigrind Radical from Adelbert Haas GmbH has no traditional control cabinet. With the external dimensions fixed, the control system had to fit onto three mounting plates inside the machine housing.
Our solution: PLC, #CNC and HMI on a single CPU – fewer components, fewer interfaces, less cabling. A CX2043 Embedded PC with TwinCAT 3 CNC runs the machine, together with EtherCAT and TwinSAFE Terminals and the AX8000 multi-axis servo system.
The result: same housing, more performance and openness.
